Help shape adaptation support

19th September 2011

From 1st October 2011, the Environment Agency (EA) is taking on a new role as the Government's lead delivery body on climate change adaptation in England. This role will build on the work of the UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP), and is being developed closely with the cross-Government Adapting to Climate Change Programme.

You can help shape the EA's programme of support and advice on adaptation by completing a short online survey. In outline, the EA's programme consists of a web-based information service giving access to the latest climate science, tools and advice to help plan for climate change; and tailored support to help key sectors build their resilience to climate change. The programme will focus on six key themes: business and economy, infrastructure, built environment, health and well-being, natural environment and local government. UKCIP, based at the University of Oxford, will continue to work on adaptation, and their tools are still available from their website. UKCIP are also posting news about the transfer of the adaptation delivery programme.
