Derbyshire County Council is providing free energy monitoring kits to help local businesses find out which appliances use the most electricity, so that they can see where they can reduce their bills.

The iCon beacon of sustainability in Daventry

The University of Northampton’s new iCon Environmental Innovation Centre in Daventry is a beacon for environmental innovation in the UK and beyond. The iCon has achieved an ‘excellent’ rating from BREEAM, the leading assessment method for the environmental performance of buildings. The building has also received two design awards, in 2010 a Green Apple Award for the Built Environment and in 2009 the Milton Keynes-South Midlands Excellence Award.

Renewable energy and green roofs leaflet

A leaflet on Renewable Energy and Green Roofs has been developed by Daventry District Council and The Environment Agency to provide information on micro-renewable energy technologies and green roofs for new homes, buildings and extensions.

Meet the installers renewable energy event
1st September 2011
An event was recently held to promote the use of renewable energy at the new iCon Centre in Daventry. Over 120 people attended the evening event organised by Daventry District Council which was aimed at local householders and organisations considering installing solar, heat pumps, biomass, and small-scale wind turbine systems.
