Decentralised Energy
This was one of the projects in the Climate East Midlands Skills Programme, funded by DCLG via East Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership, and designed to support the decentralisation of power to the local level by enhancing the skills that local authorities and their local communities need to take positive action on climate change.
The Carbon Trust were commissioned to run a decentralised energy project that built on a DECC-funded regional energy and heat mapping study.
Six masterclasseses for planners were held on the folowing subjects
- Developing to local policy standards - a developer's view
- Rural opportunities for decentralised energy
- Energy from waste
- Planning for wind
- Combined heat and power
- Delivery and Energy Service Companies (ESCos)
Five case studies were generated from the programme and all the presentations from the events are available here.
