Aims:
- To showcase local examples of companies that are active in the Low Carbon Economy and to discuss business opportunities arising from the forthcoming Green Deal
- To launch Leicester City Council’s new Supplementary Planning Document on Climate Change and consider the local opportunities arising from the new Climate Change Skills Programme in the East Midlands
Target audience:
Members of the LEP, developers, architects and those consulted over the Climate Change Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), climate change practitioners.

The Government’s view on the low carbon economy, Ian Trim, Policy Advisor on Green Deal Legislation and Finance at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
10:20 The business opportunity of the low carbon economy, Bill Rumble, Group Commercial Director of The Mark Group.
The Mark Group is one of the UK’s largest and fastest growing installers of ‘whole house’ energy saving measures with a turnover of over £100million. The business’s recent growth has been entirely organic and currently employs over 1,400 staff operating from 14 locations throughout the country installing cavity wall and loft insulation, external wall insulation, solar thermal, solar PV, heat pumps and wind turbines.
