Climate East Midlands launched the findings of the “Adapting Through Natural Interventions” study, undertaken by consultants Aecom, at an event on 16th July during Changing Climate Weeks. Aecom gave a detailed presentation on the role of Green Infrastructure in climate change adaptation in the East Midlands, and integrated this with an understanding of the socio-economic benefits arising from adaptation. Aecom then outlined three proposed tools which could be developed to support stakeholders in their adaptation decision-making. The presentation generated lively discussion amongst the audience of public and voluntary sector stakeholders. Initially, Climate East Midlands is looking to develop Tool A, which would consist of an interactive series of adaptation opportunity maps to help identify priority areas for adaptation in the East Midlands.
